When beginning your reading journey with your baby, creating opportunities for them to connect with you and the books they enjoy is everything. This age is less about simply listening to a story, and more about using their 5 senses to learn, explore and interact with the books in front of them as well as the caregiver reading with them. These are our 5 favorites for babies that we know will create fun story times that both you and your baby will enjoy!
Peekaboo: Sun by Camilla Reid
With its vibrant, colorful illustrations, simple language and fun moving parts on every page that are perfect for the smallest of fingers, this book (and series) are one of our favorites for the youngest of readers. Your baby will love playing their favorite game of peek-a-boo with the objects and animals in this book and will build those early language and fine motor skills while they are at it! Be sure to check out the others in this series to build your collection!

Young readers will love this book! With felt flaps, and a simple game of hide and seek, this book is perfect for little hands and minds. They will love looking for their favorite zoo animals and discovering them behind the flaps. They’ll be even more thrilled to see their own smiling face behind the flap on the last page!
This Little Duckling by Ingela P. Arrhenius
Babies learn through sensory play and feeling the textures around them. This sweet touch and feel book is one of our favorites with its bright illustrations and fun things for feeling on every page. Your little one will ask for this one over and over again!
Hop, Hop!: Slide-and-Seek by Isabel Otter and Sophie Ledesma
This slide and seek book will have your little one giggling as they follow bunny while he greets his friends! They will love pulling and pushing the tabs to reveal various animals, some of which will be unexpected!
Duck and Friends by Surya Sajnani
Usually we say books and water don’t mix well, but this series changes all that! The illustrations in these simple, soft textured books come alive when touched with water creating magic for the smallest of readers. Take it in the bath, to the pool or let them use a paintbrush and a cup of water and go to town! This durable series is perfect for travel!
