My Favorite Things – End of Summer Edition

You asked, and I listened! In a recent Instagram poll, so many of you voted for a peek into the things my family and I have been loving lately—and I’m thrilled to share them with you. This post is a little different from my usual book-focused content, but I think you’ll enjoy this fun mix of everyday favorites that are making life easier and a little more joyful. While the list might seem a bit random at first glance, I’ll walk you through exactly why each item made the cut. Everything is linked below for you—some are affiliate links, some are not.

1. Lunch boxes

I feel like I have tried them all. And being a former 2nd grade teacher, I have definitely seen them all. This is my winning combo – the ELK & FRIENDS STAINLESS STEEL with the PACKIT FREEZER LUNCH BOX. It’s not heavy, holds enough, less parts to clean, dishwasher safe, no dealing with ice packs, just simplifies my lifeeee. The colors and patterns of each are just the best too! Something every kid will like.

2. Toothpaste

I did a deep dive to find toothpaste that would actually clean and help my kids’ teeth. I felt very validated when the dentist said their teeth looked awesome, even though we don’t always remember to brush twice a day. Bonus is it tastes good. I am not a dentist, so take my recommendation with a grain of salt but I feel like all of us are looking for a toothpaste that makes toothbrushing less painful. Am I right? BOKA TOOTHPASTE. There are other flavors, but this is the favorite at our house!

3. Tinted Moisturizer

I have been on. the. hunt. I was a Beauty Counter girl and I needed to find something new. My mom told me about Jones Road, Bobbi Brown’s new line. I am usually a crunchy, clean beauty girl but considering I only do a tinted moisturizer and mascara every day, I wanted something really good. This is fantastic – full coverage, silky smooth, looks great, love it! But you won’t see me applying makeup or washing my face on Instagram, so this is as good a review as you’re going to get. 4. Electrolytes

I swear this one is less talked about but oh so delicious. It got me through years of pregnancy and nursing and the hot as hell weather here this year. Linked HERE.

5. Play

I love playing and I love to do things while my kids play 🙂 These are the two things that have kept them playing the last few weeks.

KINETIC SAND in our Ikea Trofast table. Protip – do not buy colored kinetic sand. The magnetic quality is just not the same and it gets alllll over the house. Go for the regular colored sand and add fun things like THESE.

Magnatiles – especially THIS set. We got it as a gift, but it is pulled out again and again and a hit for all ages.
